Isaiah 25 (Msg)

 More than Cities

Isaiah 25 [link]

God will remove more than just cities.

Yes, God is able to reduce large cities to rubble; however, to be quite honest that's really not much of an achievement.  I mean, given enough manpower and time, just about anyone can reduce a city to rubble.  A city is a man-made thing, and man can un-make it.  That's really nothing that special for God.  If God can only un-make things we've made, then He's not really God.

It goes on, though.  Verses 6-8 are the real key verses, I think.

God is able to remove the feeling of doom.  He removes darkness from nations.  He can destroy death.  He'll wipe our tears and remove all our disgrace.  Not just "deal with it," but REMOVE it.  He can do things that no human can do.

Can you remove your own disgrace?  Can you remove a feeling of doom, or the darkness covering nations?  Can you destroy and do away with death, like it never had any real power at all?  Can you say, "That's enough." and cease death from ever "reigning" again?

Well don't worry -- I can't, either.

God can, though.  His power goes beyond that of just "crumbling cities."  Our God has the ability to deal with everything that ever has, could, or will give us grief.  He can deal with it all because HE is so much greater than it all.  He has saved us, and will come back to "finish the job" which He has already won.

Our only real, right response is to praise and glorify Him more and more for it, and to be a vessel for God to use to help others come to a saving, sustaining faith and understanding of Who He is.  May we be faithful to that call, and realize just a bit more at how much greater He is than all the petty things which come against us.  Though they are real and big to us, to Him they are very small.  That knowledge should give us hope, and help us to trust Him more.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being so wonderful, awesome, and amazing.  Help us to glorify You and praise You for all that You have done, are doing, and will do.  Help me to remember how big You are.  Help me to magnify You so others can see just how HUGE You really are, instead of attempting to blow You up as if You were really some small thing which is easy to miss.  Help me instead ot show them how blind they are, instead of letting them think they are really so observant and big.  Help me to be a messenger who delivers Your messages well.  Let no extra word be added, and let no word fall away from it.  Abba, I love You and I need You.  We all do.  Please, don't leave us hanging without You.  Without You we are all completely, utterly, and totally lost.

Amen.

Up to Stuff...
State: Tired

So... here's a list of stuff since I'm tired and not in the mood for dragging things out.  =P

- Sanofi Aventis (or however you spell it) approved our "need for assistance" for more insulin.  They said our doctor should get at least some of the insulin soon.  Hopefully parents will be able to get it to us -- perhaps this time waiting until We're to meet at Thanksgiving, maybe?

- Took my Final in my online class today.  I'm fairly certain I did pretty well (unless he's super picky).  So overall I should pass.  ^_^  However, I still have all my online portions to do... so it's not quite over yet, still.

- Went in today on my day off.  The girl in charge is gone for a bit, and we're all scrambling to fill in for her.  Another of the girls is leaving soon -- she got a job working at a hospital around here.  So soon we're going to be understaffed by a whole bunch at Tops.  Yay, rah.  I'm glad I went in, though, since it was the new girl who'd have been by herself.

That's about it, I suppose.  I was very caught up last night listening to last-minute lectures and reading my Bible for the class.  This morning I was doing the same up until I took the test, then I went to work relatively immediately afterward.

Well, that's all the exciting news thus far.  God bless, all!

All work and no play ... well you know how it goes ...

Isaiah is such an awesome book. Sorry for not being around much lately. I've been teaching people how to break into safes and there's been very little time for blogging. I wouldn't post except most of what I post here was written in advance. I hop eyou and Amy are doing well. It is always a pleasure to hear from you. Keep up the good work.

We will get the insulin and bring it to Hershey when we have Thanksgiving. Just let us know when it will be at the doctor's and if you don't know when the doctor gets it, I will call  the doctor occasionally and then go get it. I have rented a suite that will have a refrigerator for your insulin, for our Thanksginving celebration, then you can take it home in the refrigerated container I will bring. We will have a nine hour drive so we will pack the insulin as best we can but you will have a five hour drive to Hershey (its really Harrisburg near Hershey)...btw...Won't they send it to the pharmacy at Topps? I'm just glad they are sending some. Three months? More? BTW dad has been sick (flu) and congrats on finishing your final test for semlink...whew...love you both dearly..mom

@bassoon1979 - I think they should, but only after we sent all the stuff did we realize... we never gave them the address for the Tops pharmacy we work at! x/

For now, it's supposed to be a 90 day supply, I think.
